WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) The latest legal problems for Kim Hoenisch will be handled by the state Attorney General's office, not local prosecutors. The wife of the former Marathon County sheriff was in court yesterday. The DA's office said they're referring the case to state prosecutors because of a potential conflict of interest.
Earlier this month Hoenisch got into an argument at a relative's house in Berlin. A family member called 911, and Heonisch was arrested for disorderly conduct. The state will determine the charges in the case. She remains free on signature bond.
Earlier charges from last year were handled by a special prosecutor. Mrs. Heonisch pled no contest to stealing prescription drugs from former inmates that she was supervising as a corrections officer. She'll be sentenced on August 12.
