WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - Wausau's Bridge Community Health Clinic is completing work on an expansion of their dental facilities in Wausau.
The building got a visit yesterday from Senator Tammy Baldwin, who wanted to see what sort of work the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare was funding. Bridge Community director Laura Scudiere says the ACA funding will significantly increase their ability to serve the community. "We see about 7,000 patients a year, so when we open up this new unit, it's going to double our capacity."
Bridge Clinic has seen a series of expansions over the last several years and funding from the federal government has helped that. Scudiere says it's all to help low income families in the area. "Each time there's been funds available we've applied for and secured those funds, and each time we've expanded, we've grown into the space immediately."
The dental expansion is expected to open in October 2013 and renovation of the existing dental facility will be completed in early 2014.
