WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- ATV enthusiasts will be hitting the Marathon County trails Saturday. As of 8:00 a.m., the designated ATV trails will open to the public.
Marathon County Snowmobile & ATV Coordinator Jon Daniels says the designated trails are open to ATVs when the air temperature is 28 degrees or colder.
The county offers maps that show the designated ATV trails. The Mountain-Bay State Trail never allows ATV’s. Daniels says there are some trails that are closed until Monday near Shantytown and the Ashley Tavern and Ballroom. He advises checking with the telephone hotline or the website to get the latest on trail conditions.
