RIB MOUNTAIN, Wis. (WSAU) -- Wisconsin State Patrol officers are preparing for messy roads as winter continues and they're advising drivers to do the same.
Sergeants say patrol officers are already on major highways like U.S. 51 and Highway 29. State Patrol will be at full staff when the weather hits and they are working with sheriffs departments to prepare for any crashes.
Officers say people should stay off the roads if at all possible today and especially be careful on north-south roads and highways because of the threat of icy and snowy conditions.
Drivers should prepare now for the wintry conditions. If you see trouble on the roads let us know by calling 715-845-2155 or by texting the word TRAFFIC to 39327.
