FRIENDSHIP, Wis. (WSAU) -- The Adams man accused of shooting his girlfriend when she startled him from sleep has apparently reached a plea deal with prosecutors. 29-year-old Coleman Dybul was charged with first degree reckless homicide for killing 27-year-old Toni Voss of Adams last March 2nd.
According to the complaint, Dybul thought an intruder was attacking Voss, so he fired his loaded shotgun. When he turned the light on, he realized he had shot Voss and there was no intruder. Dybul called 9-1-1 for help and tried unsuccessfully to give first aid. He has been in the Adams County jail on a $250,000 cash bond ever since the shooting.
Online court records now show Dybul is scheduled for a plea and sentencing hearing in Adams County before Waushara County Judge Guy Dutcher at 9:00 a.m. on February 17th.
