RHINELANDER, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Rhinelander man’s bond was reduced by an Oneida County judge Thursday.

23-year-old Marcus Alsteens is charged with attempted homicide and aggravated battery with domestic abuse modifiers. A criminal complaint alleges Alsteen shot his uncle Justin Alsteens after the two got into an argument at their home in mid August. He was arrested by deputies alongside Highway 17 hours later.

Alsteens spent the past five months in jail on a $50,000 cash bond. Thursday, the court released Alsteens on a signature bond. District Attorney Michael Schiek is also reviewing new information, and is re-evaluating the case against Alsteens.

The shooting incident allegedly started over an argument about doing chores.
