WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) One of the four people arrested in a stand-off at a home in Wausau was 24-year-old Derek Simonsmeier. He wrote an op-ed for the Wausau Daily Herald describing how he'd been asked to leave a Weston supermarket while open-carrying his gun.

The others arrested in the incident were 32-year-old Danny Price, 25-year-old Shannon Wheeler, and 26-year-old Amanda Zastrow. They drew their weapons -- although no shots were fired -- during an argument at a house on Turner Street on Wednesday night. The incident happened when a woman who lived at the home told her boyfriend to leave. She called her friends to the house when he wouldn't go.

Simonsmeier's guest editorial was published two days before the incident. He criticized the manager at the Weston Pick 'N Save for telling him to either conceal his holstered weapon or leave the store because another customer felt uncomfortable. Simonsmeier could lose his concealed carry permit if he's convicted.
