WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- The man accused of driving over 100 miles per hour while drunk appeared in court Monday.
45-year-old Nikolas J. Tries of Fond du Lac was picked up by Wisconsin State Patrol troopers Sunday as he traveled southbound on I-39 near Mosinee. Tries has several past traffic violations, including high speed incidents on the freeway. This is his fifth charge of operating while under the influence of alcohol.
Judge Michael Moran ordered Tries held on a $5,000 cash bond. That bond will be reviewed during his preliminary hearing May 14th. If he makes bond, Tries will have several restrictions, including no consumption of alcohol and daily work with a substance abuse program. It’s also possible he could have his probation revoked on prior charges in another county.
