MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) -- Marshfield’s School Board is actively seeking applications for the position of District Superintendent, but only for a few more days. At Wednesday night’s Board of Education meeting, President Marlene Stueland said that the Marshfield School District Board of Education has received four applications from individuals vying to be the district’s next Superintendent of Schools, but will continue to accept applications through Friday, May 23rd.
The Employee Relations Committee would then review all applications to determine whether there’s an adequate pool of applicants, or recommend that an interim superintendent be named while the selection process to permanently fill the position continues. If the pool of applicants is sufficient, interviews would be scheduled with the Employee Relations Committee, and a committee comprised of teachers, administrators, and one member of the community. The final candidates would then move forward to interviews before with full Board of Education on June 11th. Current Superintendent Peg Geegan announced her intention to step down as superintendent late last month. Geegan will then become principal of Washington Elementary following the retirement of Jim Cai.
