Suspects caught in attempted break-in

ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Rothschild man and a juvenile are in trouble after running from police early Friday. 18-year-old Kirklan Goodwin and the juvenile fled Kohlman’s IGA at around 2:00 a.m. when they were caught trying to break into the store.

A chase ensued, and Goodwin drove recklessly through a stop sign and against traffic on a one way street without having a driver’s license. Tools for the attempted burglary were found in the car after Goodwin crashed into a ditch at the Great Dane restaurant in Wausau.

The juvenile fled on foot while Goodwin drove. Both have been apprehended.

Goodwin is jailed on a $2,500 cash bond awaiting a 9:15 a.m. preliminary hearing before Judge Jill Falstad next Wednesday, May 21st.
