MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) -- The man recently convicted of killing his wife was denied sentencing delays by the judge.

50-year-old Mark Bucki has already been found guilty of killing his wife Anita. Bucki sent a letter to Judge Jay Tlusty claiming the court-appointed defense attorneys did not adequately represent him, leading to the conviction.

Bucki claims attorneys James Lex and Jessica Schuster did not address issues properly before and during the trial, and allowed a detective to tell lies on the witness stand. Bucki believes he would be a free man if his attorneys followed his instructions.

Schuster and Lex requested to withdraw from representing Bucki, but Tlusty denied the motion. That means the July 3rd sentencing date will stay on the court calendar.
