STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- Two men suspected in the Iverson Park assault in Stevens Point are being held on bond.
Detectives arrested 18-year-old Auston Ortiz and 26-year-old Jesus Rangel last week, and both men are now being held on $15,000 cash bonds.
Rangel is facing charges of substantial battery and disorderly conduct. Ortiz faces assault charges.
Police have not provided details of the attack, but one witness told WSAU that there were at least six caucasian men that focused their attack on the victim and quickly left the park. The witness says the victim had several gashes on the left side of his head, and one eye was bleeding badly being clubbed repeatedly. The victim has a son. The witness believes the approximately 8-year-old boy saw everything.
Both men will be back for an initial appearance June 16th.
