STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- An inmate has walked away from jail.
Portage County Sheriff’s Department officials are looking for 25-year-old Leif Huffman. Huffman was dropped off in front of the jail by his attorney, who accompanied him to an appointment. Instead of walking inside and checking in, Huffman walked down the sidewalk heading south on Elk Street Wednesday afternoon just before three o’clock.
Huffman is 5'9'' tall, 195 lbs, and has black hair, and brown eyes. The sheriff's department says he has a tattoo of biohazard symbol on his upper back, a tattoo of Grim Reaper on his upper right arm, and a Dragon on his lower right arm. He has been convicted of multiple offenses including battery, intimidation of a witness, and strangulation/suffocation.
Anyone that knows the whereabouts of Leif Huffman is encouraged to contact law enforcement immediately.
He was wearing a baseball cap, blue-green t-shirt, blue jeans, and carrying a shopping bag.
