WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- Marriage licenses were issued to five same-sex couples in Marathon County Thursday. County Clerk Nan Kottke began issuing the licenses first thing Thursday morning.
Lincoln County also began offering same-sex marriage licenses Thursday.
Statewide, over 500 same sex marriage licenses have been issued in over 60 counties, even though the battle continues in court over Wisconsin’s constitutional ban of same sex marriages.
