
MARSHFIELD, Wis (WSAU) -- Dr. Dee Wells has been selected as the new superintendent for the Marshfield School District, following a special closed session of the Board of Education Thursday night.
School Board president Marlene Stueland says Wells comes to Marshfield from Inver Grove Heights School District in Minnesota, and prior to that she worked as a district administrator in Medford. Stueland says the new superintendent comes highly recommended having had a total of 30 years of experience in various administrative and teaching roles. Wells holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Cardinal Stritch University, and accepted a two-year contract at a salary of $150,000 per year. She starts as superintendent of the Marshfield School District on July 7th, replacing outgoing superintendent Peg Geegan.
The other two finalist for the position were Dr. Steven Kolden, superintendent of the Colby School district, and Dr. Amy Van Deuren, assistant professor at National Louis University in Chicago.
