UPDATE:  The motorcyclist that died is 34-year-old Brian C. Jovanovic from Eagle River.  Jovanovic was not wearing a helmet.

Wood County Sheriff's investigators are continuing to withhold the name of the driver from the other motor vehicle because that driver has been threatened, and officers wish to ensure that person's safety. Deputies say the motor vehicle failed to yield to the motorcycle, causing the crash.

The motorcycle was westbound on Highway 10 and the other vehicle was pulling out of a stopsign making a right turn from northbound Highway 186 onto Highway 10.

AUBURNDALE, Wis. (WSAU) -- A weekend motorcycle crash in Wood County leaves more questions than answers. Sheriff’s Department investigators say the crash involved a motorcycle and another motor vehicle at the intersection of Highway 10 and Highway 186 at 9:23 p.m. Saturday.

An Eagle River area man died from injuries in that crash.

Wood County is continuing to investigate the crash.

The names of the people involved in the incident will not be released.  Authorities would only say the motorcycle driver was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield with unknown injuries.

Investigative Division Lieutenant Quentin Ellis says they received information that leads them to believe the people involved in the crash and the crash investigation could be in danger if they release the names of the people involved.  Ellis declined to comment any further on the alleged threats.
