WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Wausau couple was arrested for having more than tomatoes in their balcony planters. Police followed up on an anonymous tip Saturday, claiming the 60-year-old man and the 53-year-old woman were growing marijuana on their upper level patio deck in the 900 block of North Second Avenue.
The man tried to tell police they were tomato plants. The officer knew the difference between tomato plants and marijuana plants. The woman confessed she was growing the marijuana for her own use.
Both are facing charges of manufacturing marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Names will be released after formal charges are filed.
