MADISON, Wis (WRN) Just over half of Wisconsin’s public school districts will receive more state aid next year.
Figures released by the Department of Public Instruction show 225 school districts will see increases in state aid, while 197 will see a drop during the 2014-2015 academic year. Overall aid to districts is up 2.1-percent, to about $4.5 billion.
The Pewaukee school district will see the biggest increase by percentage, at 125 percent. The Northwood school district in northern Wisconsin will see the biggest decrease of just over 30 percent. Racine schools will see the largest dollar increase, of about $10 million.
Here are the state aid increases/decreases for some school districts in Central Wisconsin:
The Wausau School District will see a 3-percent increase.
Stevens Point will have a 5.4-percent increase.
D.C. Everest: 5.5-percent increase.
Merrill: one-quarter of a percent increase.
Marshfield: a 1.6-percent decrease.
Mosinee: 1.5-percent increase.
Wisconsin Rapids: a .35-percent decrease.
