WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- The city of Wausau is holding off the financial approval for a new developer agreement with the Wausau Center Mall’s owner.
The city’s Finance Committee considered a resolution to approve spending $375,000 to allow CBL Properties to make improvements to the Wausau Center Mall, and also to wave the remaining $31,000 in lease revenue this year and $76,000 per year for the next several years.
This is exactly what the city offered CBL, but the Finance Committee decided to hold off on this final approval until officials from CBL return the new developer agreement documents.
The deal will still go through, but committee members felt it would be inappropriate to finalize this before they had a signed developer agreement. This same issue will likely come back to the committee next month.
