SAYNER, Wis. (WSAU) -- A woman and a child nearly drowned near Saynor Tuesday.
Vilas County’s dispatch center received a report at 12:40 p.m. about two women trying to save three children that were swimming in Star Lake. Vilas County investigators say a family friend in a boat pulled the two out of the water after they had gone under, and raced to waiting paramedics at the boat landing.
The 8-year-old boy was taken to Howard Young Medical Center and the 47-year-old woman was flown to Aspirus Wausau Hospital for treatment. Their names and conditions have not been released.
The other woman rescuer and the two other children are safe.
