STITTIN, Wisc (WSAU) The Stettin Plan Commission voted against a new 150-foot cellphone tower that's proposed by A T & T. It would go on private property on the 3800 block of Stewart Avenue, on land that's surrounded by the City of Wausau.
Last night's meeting included 3-hours of public comments. Some residents said the tower would hurt property values. Others were concerned about health impacts from radiation -- something an A T & T spokesperson said was unfounded.
The commission vote was unanimous against the project. The Stettin Town Board could still overrule the decision. It's not clear if A T & T will ask the town board for a vote.
