ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAU) -- Cedar Creek Mall is about to see some changes. The mall, which has had some financial struggles under old ownership, has a new owner.
The Wausau Convention and Visitors Bureau says Ned Brickman is the Milwaukee area developer buying the property from lender Stoney Rivers. Stoney Rivers had foreclosed on the mall, and a Marathon county judge appointed attorney Rebecca Demarb as the receiver last December.
Plans are being made to renovate the facility and attract additional businesses. That includes a new roof, some interior work, and parking lot improvements.
The sale to Brickman includes the Patriot Center convention hall, which hosts several events and connects the mall to the Holiday Inn. Arrangements have been made for the Patriot Center to be managed by Dale Elliott, who owns Dale’s Weston Lanes.
