STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- A sex offender will be released in the Stevens Point area next week.
His name is Anthony D. Turner, and he has completed his sentence for second degree sexual assault of a child. Turner is scheduled to be placed in extended supervision on August 12th.
Anthony D. Turner is not wanted by police, but will be under close supervision by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. He will also be on electronic monitoring around the clock.
Police Chief Kevin Ruder says convicted sex offenders are in nearly every community, but they notify the public when prisoners are being released to help increase awareness and public protection.
