
WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) The pilot of a single-engine airplane landed at Wausau's downtown airport after reporting smoke in the cockpit around 5pm last night.
WAOW television reports the incident as a precautionary landing. The pilot radioed ahead to air traffic controllers in Minneapolis before touchdown. They control the airspace in this area.
It's unclear where the plane had taken off from, or where it was heading. There was a pilot and three passengers onboard. No one was injured.
Mechanics are inspecting the plane, and the Wausau Fire Department came to the airport in case they were needed. It's unclear what caused the problem.
