MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) -- The Marshfield Board of Education wants more control over the message the public hears, and has approved the hiring of a communications specialist for the district. The salary for the entry-level position will be between $80 and 92-thousand-dollars annually in salary and benefits, and Superintendent Dee Wells says the position’s job description includes communicating not only with the public, but also among district personnel. Wells added that the new hire should be able to “sell” the district and that she’s, “not looking for someone with just a journalism degree to be honest. You have to really be able to really market and sell.” The communications specialist will be a year around position, and report to the superintendent. The board will attempt to fill the position as soon as possible.
