STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- Portage County officials are advising residents of a pair of sex offenders that are being released into the community.
39-year-old Michael Godwin is set to be released to 21 Webster Street in Almond. He's not currently under any parole or probation, but will be a lifetime registrant on the sex offender registry. He was convicted in 2001 of first degree sexual assault of a child in Winnebago County.
Stevens Point police say 38-year-old Jeffrey Woodworth will be released September 16th to a location in Stevens Point. Woodworth has been twice convicted of second degree sexual assault of a child, once in 1997 and once in 2006.
Both men are registrants on the sexual assault registry and will be monitored while on release.
