MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) -- What should Marshfield’s “downtown of the future” look like? That’ll be the topic of a workshop Wednesday evening, and Marshfield City Planner Josh Miller says both residents and business owners can help city leaders craft a downtown that’s attractive and economically successful. Miller says he wants to, “get public participation and feedback from stakeholders and community members on how the downtown should look and feel.” Miller added that several specific issues will be discussed like, “trying to identify the downtown boundary, trying to address pedestrian and bicycle transportation issues, identifying housing needs in the downtown, and discussing the need for green space and other opportunities.” The workshop will be conducted by consultants Place Dynamics and Short Ellliott Hendrickson who’ll also be presenting a preliminary report. That meeting starts at 5:30 and runs until 7:30 Wednesday night at the Chestnut Avenue Center for the Arts in downtown Marshfield. If you have questions or to RSVP, please contact Josh Miller at 715-486-2075, but walk-ins are also welcome to attend. To see the results of the workshop, provide additional feedback, or learn more about the Master Planning process, you can visit the project website at: http://plandowntownmarshfield.com/.
