STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- Stevens Point officials have selected a Fire Chief.
The Stevens Point Police and Fire Commission announced Wednesday afternoon that Interim Fire Chief Robert Finn has accepted the position full time.
The Commission interviewed two finalists for the position. Both Finn and Watertown Assistant Chief and Emergency Management Services Director Kraig Biefeld were the finalists. Both underwent interviews by panels, including one of city department heads and another panel which included a representative of the metro fire district.
The Commission voted Wednesday evening unanimously to promote Robert Finn, who succeeds Tracey Kujawa as the department’s top official. Kujawa left in May to become the City of Wausau Fire Chief.
Finn has accepted the position and will assume his new duties immediately.
