WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department Captain that accidentally shot himself in the left hand will recover well. That’s according to Sheriff Scott Parks.
Investigations Division Captain Greg Bean’s service weapon discharged while he was cleaning it at the county’s shooting range north of Mosinee Tuesday afternoon.
Parks confirms that Bean’s hand is functioning, but could not go into detail. It’s not clear how bad the damage was.
Bean will return to work, but the exact date is not known. He remains in good condition at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
