WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) --
More road construction is set for central Wisconsin starting next week.
In Marathon County, bridge maintenance will require lane closures on Highways 29 and I-39-U.S. 51 in the Wausau area. The bridge maintenance will take place Monday through Friday.
Sign crews are also working in Marathon County next week. Much of that work will be on the same highways, plus Highway 51 between Highway K and Brokaw.
In Stevens Point, I-39 bridge deck replacements begin Monday on the city’s north side next to Sentry World, where the freeway crosses Reserve Street. Speeds will be reduced and traffic will be down to one lane in each direction through November.
Downtown Marshfield will also have delays, as Canadian National Railroad crews replace the grade crossing on Central Avenue next to Veterans Parkway. The city’s main business street will be closed for a week.
