
CRANDON, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Forest County man has changed his plea in a beating and torture case from March.
45-year-old Raymond Jones is now pleading not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect to a number of felonies including attempted first-degree intentional homicide, kidnapping and aggravated battery. Jones will be back in court in November for a status conference in the case.
Jones is one of four people accused of attacking a 40-year-old man inside of a home in Wabeno in March. They accused the victim of inappropriately touching a child. The victim was left with broken ribs, a broken jaw, a frozen foot, and was nearly dead.
Two of the other suspects are taking plea deals in their cases. 19-year-old Samantha McClellan pleaded no contest October 3rd to misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct and received probation. 38-year-old April Jones pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery in September and was sentenced to 9 months in prison.
22-year-old Justin Bey is also entering insanity pleas in his case.He'll be back in court November 11th for a status conference in his case.
