STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- United Way of Portage County received a large donation this week.
Sentry Insurance and their employees actively raise money every year for United Way of Portage County. On Tuesday, they presented a check to United Way's Sue Wilcox for the employee pledges, special fundraising events, and the company’s matching donations totalling $900,000 dollars.
President, CEO, and Board Chairman Pete McPartland said, “This has been a really terrific campaign.” It included several activities, including auctioning off the first rounds of golf at the newly-rebuilt SentryWorld Golf Course.
United Way of Portage County distributes these and other dollars raised to 34 partner programs in the area.
