WESTON, Wis. (WSAU) -- Opening tonight at the DC Everest Senior High School Auditorium it's the musical Godspell.

Director Wendy Vesper says the story is a familiar one to many people. "Strangers drawn together from tragedy gradually come together to form a communal unit. The character of Jesus leads parables that teach the lessons we need to know in life to be able to live together in a harmonious state." The play roughly follows the creation of the early Christian church.

This is a musical featuring high school students, and Vesper says they took time making sure the show would fit their available students. "When you're choosing a show, you need to find something that fits their personality, and Godspell is really spontaneous and fun and there's a lot of ad libbing and this is a group that definitely can handle the show."

Vesper says she's hoping people come away with some good feelings after seeing Godspell. "The first act is joyful, it's exciting. The second act is more serious but very moving. I think when you walk away from our show you'll have a feeling of joy and inspiration."

Showtimes are tonight tomorrow and Saturday at 7pm with 1pm matinees on Saturday and Sunday. You can find tickets online at www.showtix4u.com or by calling the school at 715-359-6561.
