WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis.(WSAU) -- The Wisconsin Rapids man charged with killing his brother three months ago has pled not guilty. 55-year-old Ronald Horan is jailed on a $20,000 cash bond. He is accused of second degree reckless homicide for the death of 52-year-old Tracy Horan on August 7th at Ronald’s residence.

The complaint claims the two brothers were in an altercation, and that Ronald slammed the outside entrance door on his upstairs apartment. Investigators believe this caused Tracy to fall down the stairs. There is no landing at the top of the stairs at 1110 1/2 Baker Street.

Ronald Horan also filed a request for a new judge, to replace Wood County Circuit Judge Gregory Potter. Horan has previous Wood County cases from the mid 1990’s, where he was found guilty of 3rd-degree sexual assault, battery, and carrying a concealed weapon.

There were no weapons involved in the death of Tracy Horan.

New court dates will be set after a new judge is selected.
