ALMOND, Wis. (WSAU) -- Several bridges and highway structures along I-39 in southern Portage County are the subject of a Monday night meeting.

Department of Transportation officials are looking for public input as they prepare to make repairs to 13 bridges. Eight of them carry I-39 traffic, and five of them are I-39 overpasses.

The public meeting is at the Almond-Bancroft School in Almond, and runs from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Transportation officials are looking for suggestions for managing local traffic when the decks are replaced on these bridges in 2016 and 2017.

DOT officials are proposing the following:I-39 will remain open. Motorists will encounter single lanes closures and speed limits reduced to 55 mph during work operations.

The Portage County D and County W overpasses will remain open to traffic during construction by using temporary signals at the ramps and single lane closures on the bridge.

The 3rd Avenue, Coddington Road and Birch Drive overpasses will be closed during construction. No detour is planned at this time.
