TOWN OF RED SPRINGS, Wis (WSAU) -- A 17-year Keshena man is under arrest this morning after leading police on a high speed chase through Shawano County.
Dispatchers got a call around 4:45 on Sunday of a man burglarising a home in Red Springs. The caller said the man stole a truck and left the scene. When deputies and Stockbridge-Munsee police responded, the suspect stole another vehicle, and lead police on a mile and a half chase through Gresham. The suspect damaged two squad cars, then tried to escape on foot but was later captured.
No one was injured in the chase. The man is in custody, and his name will be released once formal charges are filed.
Police say they think the suspect may be responsible for a number of thefts and burglaries in the area. If your home or property was broken into on Sunday, contact police at 715-526-3111.
