STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) - Six candidates have stepped forward to fill a vacant seat on the Stevens Point School Board.
The six candidates are Jeff Presley, Sam Levin, Kurt Lepak, Patricia Baker, Frances Fulton and Meg Erler. Former board member John Zellmer left the area which vacated his seat.
The school board has been split into two factions since the implementation of Act 10. If the organizational meeting to unsuccessfully select a board president was any indication, it may be difficult for the board to appoint someone to the open seat as well.
The board will attempt to fill that role at their regular meeting Monday night.
