MEDFORD, WI (WSAU) - Two counties and state investigators are examining human remains that were found in Taylor County. County Highway C remains closed for the investigation between Highway M and Faber Lane northeast of Medford. The body was discovered by a couple that was out for a walk Friday morning. The man saw something in the ditch Thursday night, but wasn’t sure what it was at first.
Taylor County, Lincoln County, Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations, and the State Crime Lab are processing the scene.
Authorities have not said if they remains are male or female, or if they know the person’s identity. There has been speculation this could be 48-year-old Anita Bucki, who has been missing since April 26th. Deputies have not said anything to confirm or deny that.
