2 arrested after drug bust Thursday

RIB MOUNTAIN, WI (WSAU) -  Two people were arrested after a drug bust Thursday in Rib Mountain. Marathon County’s Special Investigations Unit arrested a 35-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman after they conducted a heroin sale in a Rib Mountain retail store’s parking lot.

Investigators got a search warrant for the man’s 6th Avenue Wausau home, and confiscated heroin, crack cocaine, and hashish. They also found a firearm, which the man was not supposed to have since he has a previous felony conviction.

Both have been referred to the District Attorney for charges, and remain in the Marathon County jail awaiting their first court appearance Monday.
