WOODRUFF, WI (WXPR) - No decision was made on a proposed helicopter landing facility upgrade at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff.
The Oneida County Planning and Development Committee visited the site Tuesday afternoon. The committee felt they needed more information before deciding. They are likely to return to Woodruff and decide the issue after another visit.
Ministry Health Care would like to upgrade the Spirit air ambulance landing facility in Woodruff and have a more centralized facility within its coverage area.
Several hospital neighbors are concerned about the noise. Others said the hospital was an asset, but felt it would affect their properties.
The medical helicopter is presently based in Rhinelander.
