WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - A Weston man convicted of extortion will spend the next five years in prison. 28-year-old Dustin Congleton was given that sentence from Judge Mike Moran Monday. Congleton reached a plea deal June 7th, where several other charges were dismissed but read in at sentencing.
Congleton was one of two men that extorted nearly 100-thousand dollars from a Marathon County victim. Congleton was also convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Once he’s out of prison, Congleton will spend an additional five years on extended supervision.
