WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - Drivers can expect some changes around a major highway construction project.
Department of Transportation officials say the US Highway 51 and Marathon County U and K ramp closures start Thursday night.
The old northbound off ramp and southbound on ramp at Highway U will close, but traffic will be able to use the temporary northbound off ramp at Highway K and a temporary southbound on ramp at Highway K.
Expect to use the temporary ramps until September while bridge construction and other work is underway.
DOT officials urge you to drive with caution as the approach and move through the work zone. To avoid delays, you may want to use alternate routes.
