MEDFORD, WI (WSAU) - The woman accused of trying to kill four of her six children by asphyxiation remains in jail. 37-year-old Heidi Mann of Rib Lake had a bond hearing Monday, where the judge set bond at 200-thousand dollars cash. Should Mann come up with the cash, she would also be prohibited from any unsupervised contact with her children.
Taylor County Sheriff Bruce Daniels says the children, ages 3, 5, 8, and 11, are OK and are being cared for by family members.
Investigators learned last week that the incident occurred March 8th at the family’s Rib Lake home. Daniels isn’t releasing any further details about that incident, since the investigation is still underway.
Daniels says they have recommended four attempted homicide charges against Mann. An initial appearance on those charges is scheduled for June 25th at 2:30 p.m.
