WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - Crews battled a fire Tuesday on Wausau’s west side. The fire started in a garage and spread to the nearby house in the 800 block of 22nd Place just before 11:00 a.m.
Wausau Fire Department officials say the occupants were burning refuse negligently, and it got out of control.
The house was damaged enough to make it uninhabitable. The American Red Cross is assisting the family with shelter.
