SARATOGA, Wis (WSAU) An employee at the Mini Mart in Saratoga is accused of embezzling more than $30,000. 33-year-old Sanya Benal of Wisconsin Rapids had been under investigation for several months, after her boss noticed a larger number of voided transactions at her cash register.
Wood County sheriffs investigators say Benal would take money out of the register after customers left the store. She'd pocket some of it, or use it to buy lottery tickets.
About $13,000 worth of theft was recorded by the store's surveillance cameras.
She'll be in court July 22, and faces up to 6-years in jail if convicted.
