TOMAHAWK, Wis. (WSAU) -- A 43-year-old Merrill man was hospitalized after crashing his ATV Saturday night near Tomahawk.
The man, whose name has not been released, was brought to Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk by a witness who came upon the crash alongside of Highway 8.
The injured man was a passenger on the ATV and fell off the back of the machine, but the medical staff said the injuries were not consistent with the man’s story. Lincoln, Price, and Oneida county deputies were not able to locate the ATV that the man said was left alongside the roadway and they were not able to determine the crash location.
The man was cited for operating while intoxicated, and transferred to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield for additional medical treatment.
