STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- Portage County will have an interim Highway Commissioner while the search for a new Highway Commissioner continues.
Portage County Executive Patty Dreier has appointed Stephen Schlice to take the place of Brian Kelley starting July 22nd. Kelley accepted a similar position in Chippewa County, which is closer to many of his family members.
Schlice is presently the county’s assistant highway commissioner. The appointment needs county board approval, which is expected next week.
