MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) - Get ready for some overnight road closures on Highway 51 north of Merrill tonight and Tuesday night.
Work crews will be closing lanes tonight and Tuesday in order to build the supports for a new overpass at Highway C. Project manager Jeff Hess says the intersection has become a safety concern. "That was identified as a concern and that's why we're putting in the overpass.
Crews will be lifting large concrete girders to form the bridge deck tonight and Tuesday starting at 6 PM. Traffic will be detoured both nights along Highway K.
Motorists are reminded to drive with caution and allow extra time to avoid any delays.
