PINE GROVE, Wis. (WSAU) - A motorcyclist is facing drunk driving charges for crashing his bike Sunday evening near Bancroft.
The male driver of the bike failed to make a turn on a curve on Highway W and went into the ditch. The man was ejected from the bike. When officers and first responders arrived to the scene, he told them that he had a female passenger with him on the bike. A search didn't turn up any sign of her, and the woman was later located at home.
The man was flown to St Joseph's in Marshfield for treatment and also booked for OWI. Portage County sheriffs deputies think the man lied about the passenger to conceal his intoxication.
