WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - It’s a second day of blasting rocks along Highway 51 in Wausau Tuesday. That means some temporary traffic tie-ups at 10-o-clock a.m.and 7-o-clock p.m.
Department of Transportation officials expect to close both the north and southbound lanes of the freeway for up to twenty minutes as a safety precaution during blasting operations between Bridget Street and Decatur Drive. This will also affect traffic around the Merrill Avenue intersection with Highway 51.
There is also the possibility of additional closures at these same times Wednesday and Thursday if needed.
